A Morning Off

July 13, 2018July 13, 2018 ~ Caroline ~ Leave a comment

The last few weeks feel a bit like a blur of work. We're in the midst of selling our house, so all the projects, paperwork, and anxiety that go along with that have been piled right onto our already full plates.  It's nose to the grind time, that's for sure! Vivienne turns 11 today out here in Arizona, and she continues to be just the most fun, energetic kid - up for anything, a deep thinker, big question asker, growing in her faith, and quick to laugh. All of which makes family hiking (and long trail conversations) so much fun! Yesterday, we got caught in a rare hail shower about 2 miles into a 6 mile hike up in Cave Creek… such a life lesson to keep going until the sun breaks through, which it did, in all its glory!
Soaking up the sun in Phoenix this week!
Ryan brought the most beautiful handmade block print fabric back from India a couple weeks ago, and I can’t get over how well it goes with everything! Hemming it today for future dinner parties 💞
Fifth and first grade - such great ages, I’m trying to soak it up before we dive into middle school with Viv next year!
41° and sunny… after the last few arctic days, this is all it takes to make me feel like spring is around the corner!
After finally admitting that this little flurry was more than a dusting, I realized all the shovels were still out under the barn, so I traipsed down there to collect them at dusk… the view was pretty magical!

“You’re going to feel like hell if you wake up someday and you never wrote the stuff that is tugging on the sleeves of your heart: your stories, memories, visions and songs — your truth, your version of things — in your own voice. That’s really all you have to offer us…”
